B300 Appraisal

What B300 collateral is worth now, and when your loan matures.

What it's worth

A new 8-GPU HGX B300 server listed at $490K-$520K on a single-unit order in the October 2026 Rack Report, and our conservative band has it worth 52-64% of list price in 2027. An appraisal checks the quote against the market and sets values at the dates your loan cares about.

Start with the quote

B300 servers are bought new, so the first appraisal question is whether the invoice matches the market. The Rack Report's volume range of $400K-$450K sits below its single-unit range of $490K-$520K. Managed GPUs' ballpark is $550,000 to $650,000, with servers that ship within weeks at the top and factory orders, which can take five to six months, at the bottom.

Some of the spread is plain overpricing. We have seen the same B300 server quoted at both $460,000 and $550,000. Quotes also bundle optics, support and installation into one line; on one quote we reviewed, an un-itemized network and racks line was 11% of the equipment value. See the BOM review checklist.

What moves B300 collateral value

Year one is the steepest step. Our conservative band takes a B300 from 78-81% of list price in 2026 to 52-64% in 2027, then 37-50% in 2028. NVIDIA now ships a new flagship less than a year after the last, so a six-month delivery or racking delay spends six months of that curve before the cluster earns anything.

Technology age, not purchase date. Blackwell Ultra shipped in volume from NVIDIA's second fiscal quarter of 2026 (May to July 2025), and our report dates the B300 generation to late 2025. A server delivered in 2027 is valued as a 2027 B300, not as new.

Power sets the buyer pool. NVIDIA rates a DGX B300 at 14.5 kW, air-cooled, in 10 rack units. Two of them need about 29 kW in one rack, at the top of what most data centers run (10-30 kW). Liquid-cooled HGX B300 variants push density higher and narrow resale to sites that have the plumbing.

Memory is most of the upgrade. Each B300 carries 288 GB of HBM3E in 12-high stacks, which Micron has said it designed into HGX B300 and GB300 NVL72. Inference buyers pay for memory per GPU, which is what keeps the B300 ahead of the B200 in the bands.

What a report flags

SeverityFinding
HighPurchase price is above the market range for a single-unit order; an 80% advance on the invoice lends close to 100% of fair market value.
HighCommitted site power is 25 kW per rack for two air-cooled 14.5 kW systems; the configuration needs a power change order before delivery.
MediumFactory delivery is quoted at 26 weeks; first payment falls before the cluster can bill, so the loan amortizes against a 2027 residual, not a 2026 one.
