What AMD equipment is worth as collateral, now and when your loan matures.
What it's worth
AMD shows up in GPU clusters two ways: as the EPYC host CPUs inside most HGX servers, and as Instinct accelerators competing with NVIDIA. A used EPYC 9654 sold for $1,850 in the October 2026 Rack Report.
What we appraise
| Instinct MI300X | 192 GB of HBM3 and 750 W per OAM module, eight per server, air-cooled; launched December 2023. Cisco ended sale of its UCS C885A M8 servers with MI300X (and HGX H200) in June 2026. |

Appraising Instinct accelerators
Our residual bands are built from NVIDIA data center GPUs, Pascal through Hopper, and the Rack Report's GPU index includes AMD Instinct parts but publishes no Instinct benchmark yet. An Instinct appraisal therefore leans on new prices, rental rates and the closest comparable, with the uncertainty stated.
Software sets the buyer pool. Standard configurations clear faster and higher than exotic ones, and heterogeneous silicon shrinks the pool of second-hand buyers. An MI300X cluster resells to operators running ROCm, a smaller group than CUDA buyers.
EPYC CPUs keep more than Intel's
Server CPUs are the weakest component class we track: the CPU index stood at 48, -52% against normal depreciation, in the October 2026 Rack Report. Within it, current EPYC parts hold value better than 2019-2021 Xeons, which keep leaving mainstream service.
