Intel Appraisal
What Intel equipment is worth as collateral, now and when your loan matures.
What it's worth
Intel Xeons are the host CPUs in many HGX servers, and they lose value faster than anything else in the rack: the server CPU index was -52% against normal depreciation in the October 2026 Rack Report.
What we appraise
| Xeon Scalable host CPUs | Two per HGX server in many builds; 3.8% of our reference bill of materials, with 5-7% of cost left by year five in the conservative case. See Xeon Platinum 8358 value. |
| Gaudi accelerators | Our report notes the Gaudi line is winding down, with Intel's Crescent Island inference GPU in trials in the second half of 2026 (media reports as of June 2026). Gaudi clusters are valued without a used benchmark and with a thin buyer pool. |

|---|---|---|
| Used Intel Xeon Platinum 8358, realized vs launch price | 36% | $1,665 typical realized sale against $4,607 (Intel ARK recommended customer price, Q2 2021). October 2026 Rack Report, data through August 2026. |
| Used Intel Xeon Gold 6248R, realized vs launch price | 11% | $286 typical realized sale against $2,700 (List price reported at launch, Q1 2020). October 2026 Rack Report, data through August 2026. |
| Used Intel Xeon Platinum 8260, realized vs launch price | 2% | $112 typical realized sale against $5,383 (Intel ARK recommended customer price, Q2 2019). October 2026 Rack Report, data through August 2026. |
| Server CPU price index | 48 | H1 2025 = 100; -52% vs the depreciation baseline; volume 1.7x a year earlier. October 2026 Rack Report, data through August 2026. |

Why Xeons fall fastest
2019-generation processors keep leaving mainstream service, which keeps the CPU index the weakest segment in the Rack Report. In a GPU server that matters less than it sounds: the GPUs are about 77% of the bill of materials and the CPUs under 4%.
It matters more for CPU-only nodes on the same BOM: management and storage servers. An appraisal values them at CPU-market prices, not at a share of the GPU servers' value.
