Samsung Appraisal
What Samsung equipment is worth as collateral, now and when your loan matures.
What it's worth
Samsung server memory resells in line with SK hynix and Micron parts of the same spec, and its HBM3E reached NVIDIA qualification later than theirs, reportedly in September 2025. In an appraisal the memory market matters more than the maker: used enterprise SSDs stood at 214 on our index in the October 2026 Rack Report.
What we appraise
| Data center NVMe SSDs | Common boot and local data drives in GPU servers. SSDs are 7.9% of our reference bill of materials and keep 14-17% of cost by year five, conservative. See enterprise SSD values. |
| DDR5 RDIMMs | Valued by capacity, generation, speed and OEM qualification. See DDR5 64GB RDIMM value. |
| HBM3E | Samsung reportedly passed NVIDIA's qualification for 12-high HBM3E in September 2025, becoming the third supplier after SK hynix and Micron, with small initial volumes. Valued with the GPU it sits on. |

Commodity in resale, volatile in price
Samsung, SK hynix and Micron memory of the same spec resold within about two points of each other in our data. For SSDs the drivers are capacity, interface generation and endurance.
Enterprise SSDs slipped in August 2026 but held most of their shortage gains, at 214 on our index and +123% against normal depreciation. A drive bought at the peak is collateral at the next reading, not the invoice.
