Data center tax exemption in Maine

No data center-specific sales tax exemption found; a 2026 law (P.L. 2025, ch. 768, LD 713) instead excludes data centers that begin operations on or after August 1, 2026 from the Business Equipment Tax Exemption and the Dirigo Business Incentives Program.

Recent change: LD 713, approved April 23, 2026, removed data centers starting operations on or after August 1, 2026 from BETE and Dirigo incentives and ordered a state study of data center incentives.
