Data center tax exemption in West Virginia
No data center-specific sales tax exemption found. The 2025 Power Generation and Consumption Act (HB 2014) created microgrid districts and a special property tax valuation for high-impact data centers rather than a sales tax exemption, and 2026 proposals for broader data center tax credits (e.g. HB 4013) did not advance out of committee.
Recent change: 2025 HB 2014 (signed April 30, 2025) added microgrid districts and a special property valuation method for high-impact data centers.

Large-load requests in PJM
PJM forecasts its summer peak at 222,106 MW in 2036, up 65,733 MW in ten years, with large load adjustments for data center growth in 14 transmission zones, including Dominion (Virginia), AEP, ComEd and PECO. Near-term adjustments now require firm commitments, so they came down from the 2025 forecast. PJM, Jan 14, 2026
