*Limited sample: read the direction, not the level. Fair market value is the Rack Report's Complete systems value for a standard configuration (CPUs, memory, storage and node NICs; no fabric, racks, installation or support), built from observed listings adjusted to that configuration, not from realized sales. Orderly and forced liquidation are 89% and 65% of it, from the spread of realized card prices, not from liquidation sales. Vs prior issue compares the node value (or the new-price midpoint) with the previous Rack Report issue; each issue restates earlier months with more data, so this is not the report's own month-over-month change. The Rack Report prints no year-over-year change for whole servers; card rows below carry one. Residual: conservative floor to moderate ceiling of our 2026 band forecast, % of the price new. Indicative, not an appraisal.
This month
A used HGX H100 server was valued at about $195,000 in August 2026 ($24,400 per GPU), and an HGX H200 about $348,500 on a limited sample, above the roughly $340K new price for a volume order, which the Rack Report reads as scarce new supply. No used B200 or B300 servers have traded in our sales data yet; new, they run $360K-$470K and $400K-$450K a node.

Residual value by year
Share of the original price each server is forecast to hold in each calendar year, from the conservative floor to the moderate ceiling of our residual bands. Bands follow the generation's technology age, not the purchase date: an HGX H100 bought in 2026 is forecast to hold $14K-$22K of today's $195K by 2029, carrying today's value along the band ratios.
The bands are forecasts and sit below what the market shows today for both servers we can observe: an HGX H100 node is at about 58% of an original price estimated from the GPU list price ($339K), against a 2026 band of 27-53%; an HGX H200 node is at about 102% of the Rack Report new price ($340K), against a 2026 band of 45-74%. The H200 figure rests on a limited sample and on scarce new supply. We use the bands for residuals, which makes them the more conservative reading, not a measurement of today's prices.

What each server earns
One server, rented out from month four, through the managedgpus.com earnings calculator: colocation at $280 per kW a month, the server's full power draw, and Managed GPUs' setup and management fees. Payback counts months after going live until cash in covers cash out, before resale.
| Server | Price | kW | Contract or market rent: year-1 net, payback | On-demand: year-1 net, payback | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HGX H100 | $195K used | 10.2 | $167K | 18 months | $167K | 18 months |
| HGX H200 | $340K new | 10.2 | $181K | 25 months | $194K | 25 months |
| HGX B200 | $415K new | 14 | $221K | 25 months | $315K | 18 months |
| HGX B300 | $425K new | 15.5 | $258K | 22 months | $337K | 18 months |
H200, B200 and B300 are priced new at the Rack Report new-price midpoint, with a 3-year contract at the managedgpus.com preset rate. The HGX H100 is priced used, at today's node value; its first case is the Rack Report's market rent with every hour billed, falling each year like the on-demand case: a best case, not a quoted contract. Rates per GPU-hour and every assumption are on each server's page. Run your own numbers in the managedgpus.com GPU ROI calculator.

| Card | Typical | 25th percentile | MoM | YoY |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| H100 SXM 80GB* | $14,250 | $13,200 | +8.0% | +16.3% |
| A100 80GB SXM* | $5,400 | $4,875 | +8.0% | -33.5% |
Median realized price per card in August 2026, with the month-over-month and year-over-year change as the October 2026 Rack Report prints them. *Limited sample. Per GPU in the server table is the node value divided by eight, so it includes each GPU's share of the CPUs, memory, storage and NICs; it is not the price of a single card.
Methodology
How the values are built
Fair market value is the Rack Report's Complete systems value for the latest month: observed listings for whole 8-GPU nodes, adjusted for memory, storage and CPU differences to a reference configuration at current component values. It is built from listings, not realized sales, so read it as an indicative market level. Per GPU is the node value divided by eight, as printed. Card prices are realized transactions.
Orderly liquidation value is fair market value times the median, across the 8 GPU benchmark readings the Rack Report has published, of the 25th-percentile realized price over the median. Forced liquidation uses the lowest of those 8 ratios (one reading, A100 40GB). Both come from the spread of prices in normal resale, not from liquidation outcomes, and are gross, before de-installation, shipping and data sanitization. This mapping to the American Society of Appraisers' value definitions is ours, not an appraisal method.
B200 and B300 have no used servers in our sales data yet, so we show the new-price range and the residual bands rather than a dollar value. The bands are forecasts, projected from the completed resale transactions behind our June 2026 residual value report. Every figure on this page is computed from those sources at build time, so it moves with each monthly issue.

Questions
- What is the fair market value of an NVIDIA HGX H100 server?
- About $195,000 per 8-GPU node in August 2026, the October 2026 Rack Report's listing-based Complete systems value. Indicative orderly and forced liquidation values are $173,000 and $126,000.
- How much is a used H100 server worth in 2026?
- $195,000 for a whole HGX H100 8x80GB node in a standard configuration (August 2026 data), +0.8% on the prior Rack Report issue.
- What is the resale value of NVIDIA H200 servers?
- About $348,500 per HGX H200 node in August 2026, on a limited sample of listings. That is 102% of the indicative new price, which the Rack Report reads as scarce new supply, not depreciation reversing.
- What is the residual value of B200 servers after 3 years?
- For a B200 bought in 2026, our bands put it at 16-26% of the price new in 2029 on the conservative case and 26-46% on the moderate case.
